Website - School Governance Elections.png

Chattahoochee will be electing both parent/guardian positions and teacher positions to serve on our School Governance Council. The School Governance Council plays a leadership role in the governance of the school.  The Council works with the Principal in setting the school's long-term vision and strategy.  The Council is responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meet the unique needs of our school community.  It is an excellent way to take on a leadership role in the school and help impact the future of Chattahoochee.

2018 SGC Candidates

Kamini Anand - Parent

My name is Kamini Anand, and I would like to present my credentials to serve on the School Governance Council at Chattahoochee High School (CHS). I am passionate about children's education, and I have always found time to volunteer at school while managing my professional commitments. I am an Architect by profession, and the mother of a rising sophomore and freshman at CHS. I have been an active parent volunteer in the Fulton County Schools (FCS) since my children started kindergarten at Lake Windward Elementary (LWE) in 2008. I am currently serving a 2 year term (2016-18) on the School Governance Council at Taylor Road Middle School (TRMS). At TRMS, as Chair of the Request for Flexibility (RFF) committee I actively contributed to the RFF Seed Fund application, which was later granted by FCS. At TRMS, I also serve on the Parent Advisory Committee. I have previously served on the PTA Board (VP of Ways & Means and VP of Community and School Services) at Lake Windward Elementary (LWE) for 3 years. I also served on the LWE LSAC committee for 1 year. Currently I am also serving as the vice chair on the City of Johns Creek Arts & Culture Board. I look forward to the opportunity of being considered for the School Governance Council, and hope to leverage my profession and volunteer expereience to contribute to CHS.

Michelle Levine - Parent

As an educator, I have always been involved in public school education, first as a PTA parent when my children were young, and then as a teacher. I have worked as a teacher in elementary, middle and high school settings. Currently, I work in a leadership role as the Instructional Support Teacher at New Prospect Elementary. I have experienced Fulton County as a parent and as a teacher. Having multiple perspectives has given me an insight into how our strategic plan can be delivered and implemented within Chattahoochee. Building the bridge between our school and community is integral for the success of our children. In my current role, I have engaged the community by providing workshops to parents. As the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) Chair, I've worked tirelessly to increase and support a positive climate and culture, where our children feel welcomed and safe. Having recently completed my specialist degree in Educational Leadership, I have studied and have experience working within school budgets as well as serving the specialized needs of all students. I feel as though my experiences would add to the hard work that our SGC has already started in order to reach our goals of student achievement, people and culture, community collaboration, and fiscal responsibility.

Jaime Maxey - Teacher

I wish to serve on the School Governance Council because I feel that my experience as a leader will make me an effective council member.  My work as a coach and a PLC lead has given me experience working with a budget and making financial decisions, working with others to plan and make decisions, and in efficiently working to meet deadlines. Additionally, I want to represent the STEM fields by becoming one of the first mathematics teachers to serve on the council! I am proud to be a member of the Hooch community, and hope to continue working on the council to guide our school to its utmost potential based on the needs of our school community. During my time at CHS, I have served as the Head Varsity Volleyball coach (2017 - present), the JV volleyball coach (2015 - 2017), the Assistant Varsity Girls' Basketball coach (2015 - 2017), and the Pre-Calculus Professional learning community Lead (2016 - present). In addition, I was a member of the standards and grading committee (2016 - 2017), and the hooch leadership academy (2017 - present).
