Dear Westlake Family,

It is with great Lion P.R.I.D.E and honor that I introduce myself, Jamar Robinson, as the new principal at Westlake High School. My passion for Westlake’s students, teachers, and community has shaped my tenure as an Assistant Principal here and I look forward to extending this passion in my new role as principal.

Over the last six years our school has done the extraordinary. We have moved from a D to a B CCRPI (College & Career Ready Performance Index) school rating, consistently been identified as an AP and "Beat the Odds School," won numerous state championships, implemented the IB Diploma Program, earned well over 100 million dollars in scholarships, completed thousands of hours of community service, consistently produced Governor’s Honors and National Merit Finalists, and become a Model School as recognized by the International Center for Leadership in Education.

Throughout this time of exceptional growth and development at Westlake High School I have had the privilege to be an integral part of the amazing changes at our school. I have been here for the struggles, the triumphs, and the setbacks. I have seen our community and students pull together to accomplish the unthinkable, and then go back and exceed expectations yet again. That is why I know that our best years are yet to come. With change comes the opportunity for growth and as we experience a change in leadership at Westlake High School we also have the opportunity to re-engage at a high level and accomplish more than we have ever done before. I am excited to be your leader as we charge daringly towards becoming an "A" school.

During my time here at Westlake I have had the pleasure of learning from our students and community about the legacy of excellence that is the foundation of everything that we do. I have enjoyed working and meeting with all of you as we all add to that amazing legacy each day. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow together as I build new relationships with those of you I have not met and welcome the class of 2022 into our Westlake Family. I believe that one of the most important aspects of my work as Principal of Westlake High School is building meaningful relationships with students, families and teachers as well as with the greater community that is so important to the fabric of our school.

I look forward to receiving your feedback and answering any questions you might have. Together, anything is possible and I look forward to achieving the impossible with you. Go Lions!
