PE/ Health

PE and health classes are offered during the connections block of each grade level's schedule.  Per state law, all students are required to take a minimum of one 9 week quarter of PE and one 9 week quarter of health each year.  Students not enrolled in chorus, music, or orchestra classes will participate in at least 2 or more quarters of PE.

Physical Education

Our goal at Northwestern is for students to be introduced to and learn about a variety of physical activities, team and individual sports, as well as to increase overall fitness and health.  The students will also participate in the state mandated fitness gram fitness testing.

 Why is PE Important?

The Fulton County health curriculum is made up of units covering personal wellness, mental and emotional health, nutrition, substance abuse, violence and prevention, and human sexuality.   All units and lessons follow the quality core curriculum standards and parents may choose to exempt their child from the human sexuality unit of the class.
